CANCELLED Virtual Reality (VR) Adventures: July 3rd @ 10 AM - 1 PM
Program cancelled due to holiday closure
Go on a Virtual Reality Adventure at the Health & Wellness Library by booking a 30-minute session! Using Virtual Reality (VR) technology, transport yourself to a variety of visually stunning & mentally engaging environments from the comfort of the Library. Travel to international destinations in Europe, explore Africa, relax in meditative underwater scenes, and even float up in a hot air balloon!

VR technology is a unique audiovisual experience. While seated and with staff assistance, you will navigate through a 360-degree simulated reality, wearing headphones and a headset that completely covers the eyes, immersing the wearer in different scenes viewed through the headset's lenses. The headset detects movement, so slowly shifting the head left or right will allow you to explore more of each scene. Research shows VR can be a rewarding activity to try for older adults with memory loss because it engages the senses and encourages reminiscence.
